Christopher Auguste Joins Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP as Partner in Corporate Department


New York, January 31, 2005 — Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP today announced that Christopher S. Auguste has joined the firm as a partner in the Corporate Department. He joins the firm from the Corporate and Securities practice group of Jenkens & Gilchrist Parker Chapin LLP, where he was a shareholder. Mr. Auguste is being joined by associate David J. Levine.

Mr. Auguste focuses his practice on corporate and securities law, with particular emphasis on private placement of debt and equity securities. He represents private investment funds in their investment in public and private equities. He represents financial institutions and corporate clients in secured loan transactions and acquisition financings, and has counseled corporate clients in debt restructuring. His experience also includes the acquisition and sale of lease and loan portfolios, equipment leasing and software licensing.

Mr. Auguste received his J.D. from Harvard Law School. During law school, he worked with the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau, a student-run organization that provides free legal services to low-income people in Middlesex and Suffolk counties. Mr. Auguste earned an A.B. degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard University.

Mr. Levine, the associate joining with Mr. Auguste, also represents hedge funds and companies on a variety of corporate and securities law matters. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, from New York Law School, and his B.A. from the University of Maryland.
