Kramer Levin is pleased to announce that the firm will serve as lead sponsor of Archtober 2012, a month-long festival of activities, programs and exhibitions presented by The Center For Architecture, AIA New York Chapter and The Center for Architecture Foundation throughout October. 2012 is the second consecutive year that Kramer Levin has served as the lead sponsor for this event, which was once known as Architecture Week. The event celebrates architecture and design excellence in New York. The festival will feature tours, lectures and exhibitions that broadly examine the influence of architecture and design on urban life.

Kramer Levin relishes serving as lead sponsor for this annual event, because of its lead role in obtaining land use approvals for some of the most significant architecture in the city, in collaboration with the many fine architects who practice here: Foster & Partners (50 UN Plaza); Cook + Fox (150 Charles Street); Christian dePortzamparc (One57); Jean Nouvel (51 West 53rd Street); Renzo Piano (Whitney Museum at Gansevoort Street); Diller & Scofidio (Lincoln Center 65th Street Redevelopment); SHoP (South Street Seaport Redevelopment); Morris Adjmi (837 Washington Street); Goldstein, Hill & West (808 Columbus Avenue); Beyer Blinder Belle (Whitney Townhouses); Pelli Clarke Pelli (15 Penn Plaza); Ennead (NYU Langone Medical Center Kimmel Pavilion); Rafael Moneo (Columbia Northwest Science Building); Robert A.M. Stern (15 Central Park West); Handel Architects (Dream Downtown Hotel); Cooper Robertson (Columbia School of Social Work); S.O.M. (International Gem Tower); KPF (One Hudson Yards); Rafael Vinoly (432 Park Avenue); and Richard Meier (former Con Edison sites on East River).

The Center for Architecture will host unique programs nearly every day in the month of October. As in years past, an exhibition of AIA members work will be on display in the West 4th Street subway station. The festival culminates in the Heritage Ball fundraiser at Chelsea Piers.

“We are pleased to continue our commitment to the AIA and its partners in presenting Archtober 2012,” said Michael T. Sillerman, co-chair with Paul D. Selver of Kramer Levin’s Land Use department. “We look forward to working with the many talented architects and affiliated professionals in presenting this unparalleled celebration of New York’s built environment. We believe Archtober is an ideal platform to showcase to the world the unrivaled richness of the City of New York’s architectural pedigree.”
