Important advisory about new requirement for travelers under the Visa Waiver Program to begin January 12, 2009
Please note that starting January 12, 2009 all business visitors and tourists coming to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program will be required to obtain special electronic travel authorization in advance of boarding. The new system, called Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), is web-based and is administered without charge by the Department of Homeland Security. A special website has been established to apply for ESTA authorization, available at: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov. Applications are now being accepted.
