Litigation Partner Harold Weinberger and Special Counsel Timothy Helwick are representing Johnson & Johnson in its suit against Guidant Corporation, Boston Scientific Corporation and Abbott Laboratories. The case was listed in the December 2006 issue of American Lawyer in the "Big Suits" section. Seeking $5.5 billion in damages, Johnson & Johnson states that Guidant violated a merger agreement between the two companies when Guidant gave information to Abbott Laboratories, which was not a formal bidder for Guidant. A clause in the agreement between Johnson & Johnson and Guidant prohibited Guidant from sharing confidential information with any non-formal bidders. Associates Jennifer Diana, Jordan Kaye and Joel Taylor are also on the Kramer Levin team.
