Kramer Levin’s long-time client, The Related Companies, and its plans to build a huge mixed-use complex on a roof deck above the Long Island Railroad’s rail yards (the “Hudson Yards”) west of Pennsylvania Station were featured in the April 10, 2013 issue of Crain’s New York Business. Kramer Levin assisted The Related Companies and its partner Oxford Properties Group in creating a master property owners’ association regime covering the entire yards site, which was a requirement of the MTA as owner of the yards as a pre-condition to the developer’s 99-year lease for the site. The firm also structured the commercial condominium which will be implemented at the first office tower to rise on the Hudson Yards – a 1.7 million square foot property in which Coach, Inc. will be acquiring a 740,000 square foot space to serve as its new world headquarters. The firm also provided land use counsel to our client in addressing various City requirements relating to the creation of the air space parcels above the rail yards.

The Kramer Levin team included Real Estate partner Jonathan H. Canter, counsel Stephen R. Senie, special counsel Tzvi Rokeach and associates Inge Hindriks and Angel Tang; Land Use partner Michael T. Sillerman; Corporate associate Seth R. Merl; and Tax partner Howard J. Rothman and special counsel Helayne O. Stoopack.
