About Musimbi Kanyoro, PhD:

Musimbi Kanyoro is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Fund for Women, a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of human rights for women and girls worldwide. Musimbi is an award-winning and passionate advocate for health, human rights and social change philanthropy. A champion for women and girls, Musimbi was recently named one of the top 21 women leaders for the 21st century by Women’s E-News, and selected as a speaker at TEDx Women and the 2014 Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting. She has led delegations to five United Nations World Conferences and served on several international boards and working groups including the Aspen Institute’s Global Leaders Council, United Nations High-level Task Force for Reproductive Health, CARE and IntraHealth International. Musimbi received her undergraduate degree from the University of Nairobi, PhD from the University of Texas, Austin, and Doctor of Ministry from the San Francisco Theological Seminary. She was also a visiting scholar at Harvard University.
