Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP announced today that Howard T. Spilko has been named co-chair of the Corporate Practice alongside Thomas D. Balliett and Scott S. Rosenblum. The three will work together to lead the firm’s 70-lawyer corporate group.

Mr. Spilko has a diverse transactional-based practice with significant experience in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and alliances, and general corporate matters. He works with a broad range of clients from well-known large multinational companies to private equity firms, hedge funds and entrepreneurial ventures across many different industries. He already serves as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.

“Howard is an exceptional advisor to his clients on a wide range of corporate matters and an established leader at the firm,” said Paul Pearlman, Kramer Levin’s Managing Partner. “He’s a perfect fit to join the other two co-chairs in providing creative, strategic guidance that will ensure the continued success of our corporate group.”

Mr. Spilko was recognized in Chambers USA (2007 through 2013) reports as a highly regarded leader in the corporate/M&A field, and was similarly distinguished in Legal 500 in 2008 through 2012. In these publications, Mr. Spilko has been described by clients and peers as a "renowned dealmaker," a "hard-working," "accomplished," "excellent attorney," a "great draftsman and a great problem-solver" and a "responsive" "attorney who produces…impeccable legal work," as well as an "excellent deal maker" and "someone who can bring both sides together in a difficult transactional environment.”

“I’m honored to take on this new position and I look forward to working with Tom and Scott to develop fresh ideas for meeting the needs of our clients in this rapidly changing business environment,” Mr. Spilko said.

Mr. Spilko earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He earned a B.S. in accounting, summa cum laude, from Binghamton University.
