On October 15, 2013, the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission approved three architecturally significant new buildings in Manhattan represented by Kramer Levin’s Land Use Department. Land Use partner Michael T. Sillerman and special counsel Valerie G. Campbell represented Ambau Enterprises in their successful bid to gain approval for a new building designed by CookFox Architects at 39 West 23rd Street. Land Use partner Paul D. Selver and special counsel Valerie g. Campbell represented Friedland Properties with respect to the approved new building designed by Morris Adjmi Architects at 7 West 21st Street. Land Use partner Michael T. Sillerman and special counsel Valerie G. Campbell also represented client JDS Development Group with respect to a new 1350 foot tower designed by SHoP architects to be constructed adjacent to Steinway Hall on West 57th Street. Landmarks Commissioner Fred Bland remarked at the public meeting that it was a perfect trifecta of projects and that it was one of the most thrilling days he had experienced serving on the Landmarks Commission. The Steinway Hall project and the West 23rd Street project will require additional land use approvals at the City Planning Commission.
