Kramer Levin client Edgewood Partners Insurance Center (EPIC), a leading retail insurance broker, has entered into an agreement in which funds managed by The Carlyle Group, a global alternative asset manager, will acquire a controlling equity stake in EPIC. EPIC was founded in 2007 in partnership with funds managed by Stone Point Capital. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2013.
