Kramer Levin is proud to be a Lead Sponsor of the Museum of the City of New York’s exhibition “Mastering the Metropolis: New York and Zoning, 1916-2016.” The exhibition, which opens November 9, celebrates the 100th Anniversary of New York City’s Zoning Resolution of 1916, America’s first comprehensive zoning resolution.

Joining Kramer Levin as Lead Sponsor is the Lindenbaum Family Charitable Trust. Linda Lindenbaum, the widow of Sandy Lindenbaum, the founder of Kramer Levin’s Land Use Group, is serving as co-chair of the exhibition, together with Michael T. Sillerman, who co-chairs Kramer Levin’s Land Use department. The exhibition is co-sponsored by the New York City Department of City Planning.

“Sandy Lindenbaum was widely and justly regarded as the dean of New York zoning lawyers,” said Mr. Sillerman. “It is so moving and fitting for the museum to present this exhibit in memory of Sandy. The 1916 Zoning Resolution quickly became the model for zoning in the rest of the country. The issues it addressed of density, building form and separation of uses are still with us today, as discussed in this scholarly and engaging show.”
