Kramer Levin is a founding sponsor of the Court Square Law Project, a partnership between the New York City Bar Association and the City University of New York School of Law. The Project will train and deploy new lawyers to deliver civil legal services to people with modest means who do not qualify for free legal aid. It aims to address the need for moderately priced legal services in areas of chronic underrepresentation, as well as the professional needs of recent law school graduates. Housed in Court Square, Long Island City, at CUNY School of Law, it will also provide a special graduate law program for participants. Kramer Levin is one of nineteen New York City law firms that have pledged start-up funding for the venture.
