Litigation Partner Jeffrey Trachtman was interviewed in the August 2006 issue of The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel regarding his involvement in Hernandez v. Robles, the recent decision in which the New York Court of Appeals rejected a constitutional right to marry for same-sex couples in New York.  Trachtman described Kramer Levin's growing involvement with LGBT work over the last decade, including serving as co-counsel with Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund in Hernandez.  Trachtman predicted that Chief Judge Judith Kaye's dissenting opinion in Hernandez would ultimately be viewed as correct and that the New York Legislature would eventually act to eliminate discrimination in access to civil marriage in New York.
