In the wake of the European Court of Justice’s Schrems decision, Ireland’s Data Protection Commissioner recently announced its intention to seek declaratory relief in the Irish High Court, as well as referral to the ECJ, to determine the legal status of data transfers under Standard Contractual Clauses.
