A Better World Fund. A Better World Fund is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization that gives grants to deserving charities doing vital work internationally and in the United States in the areas of peace, hunger, health, human rights, ecology, education, and economic development. Its grant recipients include, among many others, Doctors Without Borders USA, Freedom from Hunger, Human Rights Watch, International Campaign to Ban Landmines, Medical Education for South African Blacks, Seeds of Peace, Teach for America, and Trees for Life. Ted Mlynar, Erica Klein, and Geoff Hu are assisting the organization in a trademark dispute with certain other parties over their use of our client's federally registered and long-time used trademark "A Better World Fund."

FilmAid International. FilmAid International is a Hollywood-oriented charitable organization created to bring films to refugee camps in Europe, Africa, and elsewhere, to create public information videos, teacher instruction videos, and public service announcements for refugee populations, and to create a platform for other organizations seeking to reach out to refugees to provide needed services. Bruce Rabb, a Director and the Corporate Secretary of FilmAid, assisted the client in the negotiation of several agreements relating to the client’s work in African refugee camps and with displaced children in New Orleans, guided the organization in the development of its corporate governance policies, and advised the client with respect to the legal aspects of its relationship with its UK affiliate. Scott Schneider assisted FilmAid in a settlement with its current landlord that enabled FilmAid to move to a significantly better workspace at very favorable terms. Scott is also negotiating the new lease.

Human Rights Watch. Human Rights Watch is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization dedicated to the protection of human rights worldwide. Bruce Rabb provided ongoing legal assistance to the organization’s Board and Board committees on governance and other legal matters.
