Pro Bono Report: Litigation and Poverty Law
During 2006, Kramer Levin attorneys continued to meet the difficult challenge of providing for the basic legal needs of the poor by representing individual indigent clients in both state and federal courts. The Firm worked on individual cases with Human Rights First (“HRF”), Immigration Equality, the Center for Disability Advocacy Rights (“CeDAR”), inMotion, Volunteers of Legal Services (“VOLS”), The New York Legal Assistance Group (“NYLAG”), and the Legal Aid Society’s Volunteer Division, among others. Kramer Levin also provided pro bono litigation assistance in 2006 on a range of public policy and civil rights matters, including several cutting-edge LGBT rights cases.
