Pro Bono Report: Civil & Human Rights

FilmAid International.  FilmAid International is a Hollywood-oriented charitable organization created to bring films to refugee camps in Europe, Africa, and elsewhere, to create public information videos, teacher instruction videos, and public service announcements for refugee populations, and to create a platform for other organizations seeking to reach out to refugees to provide needed services.  Bruce Rabb provided ongoing corporate advice to FilmAid and Ira Teicher, Fran Buchinsky, and John Ricca reviewed and negotiated the lease for its new office space.

Human Rights Watch.  Human Rights Watch is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization dedicated to the protection of human rights worldwide.  Bruce Rabb helped the organization with a major review and revision of its governance standards.

Project on Soldier Testimony and Human Rights .  The Project on Soldier Testimony and Human Rights, which is housed at the University of Maryland’s Center for International Development and Conflict Management, holds conferences and maintains a website that publicizes information provided by soldiers, policemen, and other state agents about human rights conditions throughout the world.  When state agents do come forward to testify about events they participated in or witnessed, their testimony can have a major impact on the public perception of human rights issues.  Craig Siegel advised the Project on domestic and international copyright law and other legal and transactional issues.
