Pro Bono Report: Litigation and Poverty Law
During 2004, Kramer Levin attorneys continued to meet the difficult challenge of providing for the basic legal needs of the poor by representing individual indigent clients in both state and federal courts. The Firm worked on individual cases with Volunteers of Legal Services (“VOLS”), Human Rights First (“HRF”), formerly known as the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights, the Center for Disability Advocacy Rights (“CeDAR”), inMotion, and the Legal Aid Society’s Volunteer Division, among others. Kramer Levin also provided pro bono litigation assistance in 2004 on a range of public policy and civil rights cases.
