Amy Caton joined Kramer Levin in 1999. Ms. Caton’s practice focuses on the representation of distressed investors, bondholder groups, bank lender groups and creditors’ committees in chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings.

Some of Ms. Caton’s recent significant representations include:

  • General Motors (official creditors' committee in largest case filed in 2009);
  • Capmark Financial (official creditors' committee in eighth-largest case filed in 2009)
  • Lehman Brothers (Bank of New York Mellon and the Main Street bondholders)
  • Las Vegas Monorail and Ambac (ad hoc group of Las Vegas Monorail bondholders)
  • Southern Connector 2000 Association (special litigation counsel to the Indenture Trustee)
  • United Airlines (HSBC and UMB Bank in appellate litigation)
  • Adelphia Communications (FrontierVision noteholder committee)
  • Northwest Airlines (Citigroup Global Markets and Bank of New York)

Recent Awards and Recognitions

In a nationwide survey of the AmLaw 200, Ms. Caton was one of a handful of lawyers chosen by American Lawyer Magazine as one of the top 45 under 45 women lawyers.  

Turnarounds & Workouts Magazine selected Ms. Caton as an Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyer for 2008 and 2010. 

In 2010, Law360 named Ms. Caton one of their Rising Stars, calling her “one of the 10 bankruptcy attorneys under 40 to watch.” 

In 2009, Ms. Caton was named as one of the "40 Under 40" up-and-coming lawyers, bankers and other professionals by Investment Dealer's Digest
