• Deirdre Heffernan brings more than a decade of experience representing New York City developers and investors in condominium and cooperative projects to her work advising and representing stakeholders in connection with many of the city’s luxury and mixed-use condominium development projects.

    Deirdre works with clients from the outset of their plans for a public condominium offering. She is adept at drafting and reviewing offering plans, no-action applications and loan agreements with an eye toward the goals and viability of the projects they involve. Deirdre is involved in all aspects of the formation and maintenance of the condominium or cooperative offering, including the preparation of amendments to offering plans, the preparation and recording of Declaration of Condominium, the negotiation of contracts for sale of the units, the preparation for first closings at condominiums and the conversion of cooperative buildings. She also assists clients with operational matters including the initial establishment of a condominium or cooperative board and necessary amendments to the Declaration of Condominium; advises on day-to-day condominium matters and board governance questions; and represents clients on various pre-litigation matters involving contracts, sales and board representation.

    Deirdre also advises clients seeking to convert occupied properties to condominium ownership, as well as out‑of‑state developers with the filings required by New York State for the purpose of marketing condominium units.
