Ashland J. Bernard works on bankruptcy and restructuring matters. Ashland assists in the representation of significant parties in interest, including bondholders, mutual funds, distressed investors, and secured and unsecured creditors in complex Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, out-of-court restructurings and other distressed situations.
Prior to joining Kramer Levin, Ashland served as law clerk for the Hon. Nancy Hershey Lord of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York. While in law school, Ashland interned for Chief Judge Carla E. Craig, formerly of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York, and with the Special Litigation and Appeals Division of the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.

Diamond Sports Group – Assisting in the representation of an ad hoc group of first lien lenders in connection with the Chapter 11 proceedings commenced by Diamond Sports Group and certain of its affiliates. Diamond Sports Group is a subsidiary of Sinclair Broadcasting and owns a portfolio of regional sports networks with exclusive broadcasting rights to 42 professional sports teams, including NBA, MLB and NHL teams. Diamond Sports also holds joint venture interests in the local networks for the Chicago Cubs, the New York Yankees and the Brooklyn Nets.
