• Hubert de Vauplane co-leads the Alternative Investment Management practice in the Paris office, offering a global and integrated view on regulatory and transactional structuring and operations matters. Hubert advises on EU and French laws on banking and investment services, regulatory matters, asset management and funds, insurance investment regulations, financial/securities litigation, e-money and payment services, and financial institution mergers and acquisitions. He provides legal counsel on fintech, blockchain and cryptocurrency assets, as well as financial regulatory issues relating to investment advice, asset management, payment services and banking.

    Hubert is authorized on the French Financial Market Supervisory Authority (AMF), as well as the European Commission and European Central Bank. He has served as a member of various marketplace organizations, including the Financial Market Law Committee, Paris Europlace, P.R.I.M.E. (Panel of Recognized International Market Experts in Finance) and the French High Legal Committee for the Paris Finance Marketplace (Haut Comité Juridique de la Place Financière de Paris).

    He is a professor of international banking and financial law at the Paris Institute for Political Sciences (Sciences Po – IEP Paris).

    Since 2001, Hubert has written the blog "La finance décryptée par le droit" in Alternative économique. In addition to  publishing regular columns in the Revue Banque, he writes in many other legal and economic magazines. He has also contributed to several books on the law and legal practice.
