Land Use partner Elise Wagner was quoted in a Crain's New York Business article titled "MSG's Bid for Permanent Permit Meets Resistance" on April 10th. Madison Square Garden has requested a special permit renewal and advertising signage approval from the City Planning Commission. Advocates for Penn Station would like the Garden to move to allow for the transit station to expand. One of the commissioners questioned Wagner about the advantages and disadvantages of the Garden remaining at its current location. Wagner responded by saying "There are benefits to having the arena there...There are also difficulties." Crain’s stated that she noted that the loading works well for an urban environment and being located above Penn Station is actually a boon to the arena, keeping drivers from clogging Manhattan streets as they take the train or subway to events.
