• Leah S. Friedman is an experienced trial lawyer representing individuals and corporations in the investigation and litigation of complex commercial matters and regulatory and criminal investigations.

    Leah has successfully litigated, including through trial and appeal, an extensive range of both plaintiff- and defense-side high-stakes business disputes involving contracts, business torts, bankruptcy, real estate and securities. Leah also represents clients in sensitive regulatory and white collar investigations, including criminal insider trading. Her recent notable representations include defending the former COO of a major global commodities brokerage firm in connection with litigation arising from the firm’s bankruptcy filing; bringing claims on behalf of a litigation trust against a sponsor and manager of non-traded real estate investment trusts for breaches of fiduciary duties by its founders; defending the world’s largest litigation funder against a securities fraud class action filed in the wake of a negative report put out by a short trader; defending a financial services firm in connection with claims brought by former business counterparties including a national stock exchange; and representing an Oscar-winning Hollywood superstar/philanthropist.

    Leah also dedicates significant time to pro bono cases, primarily those involving asylum law and protecting the civil rights of criminal defendants.
