The Paris Court of Appeal stated that FREE misled customers by sending more than 2,000 brochures to condominium owners, falsely stating that the connection of their building to optic fiber was required by law. The Court ordered FREE to send a disclaimer to all the addressees of the misleading brochure with penalties for delay of 10,000 euros per day and to pay damages to France Telecom.
