Mr. Heller heads the firm's Antitrust practice. He brings to that role more than 40 years' experience in the field handling the full range of antitrust matters-litigation, transactional and counseling-and represents firm clients in private litigation, government proceedings and grand jury price-fixing investigations. His representations span a broad range of financial, technology, manufacturing, distribution, and service industries.
Representative Matters
In 2007, Mr. Heller led Kramer Levin's successful effort to convince the Federal Trade Commission not to challenge a merger in an important infrastructure industry, served as an expert witness on antirust issues in a litigated matter and most recently, led the Kramer Levin team that persuaded the Department of Justice to terminate a Grand Jury price fixing investigation in a raw material industry.
Previously, Mr. Heller led Kramer Levin's defense of Bear Stearns in the NASDAQ market-maker antitrust and securities class action and related Department of Justice and SEC investigations, assisted American International Group in handling antitrust aspects of the New York State Attorney General’s investigation into practices in the insurance industry, won summary judgment for the American Camping Association against claims of an economic boycott and successfully defended a major Wall Street specialist firm in connection with class action litigation and a related Department of Justice inquiry into the options listing practices of several exchanges.
Mr. Heller also led the Kramer Levin team that represented Ortho Diagnostics, Inc., a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary, in prosecuting a monopolization claim against Abbott Laboratories, which led to an important decision concerning the limits of bundling, and handled the antitrust aspects of Endo Pharmaceuticals, Inc.'s litigation arising out of a rival's unlawfully obtained patents.

Other Activities
Mr. Heller is Immediate Past Chairman of the Board of the Union for Reform Judaism, the congregational arm of Reform Judaism with over 900 congregations and 1.5 million members. He serves on the Board of Governors of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, is an emeritus member of the Board of Visitors of Columbia Law School and is an active leader in other communal organizations, including serving as Secretary and Member of the Board of Trustees of the Tanenbaum Center for Interreligious Understanding.
