As a registered patent attorney and partner with over 30 years of experience in all phases of intellectual property and technology law, including litigation, due diligence and technology transactions, Mr. Lipsitz represents clients in matters involving computer software and hardware, satellite, radio, television and Internet communications, financial services and business methods, advertising, entertainment and publishing.
Over the years, Mr. Lipsitz has handled successful litigation matters involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and other forms of intellectual property. He has obtained and enforced numerous U.S. and foreign design and utility patents for clients, and has defended other clients against charges of infringement. Mr. Lipsitz represents clients in state and federal courts in bench and jury trials, in arbitration matters, and in cases before the International Trade Commission.
As examples of his work, he obtained summary judgment determinations of patent non-infringement for an international company; obtained favorable jury verdicts of patent invalidity for a world-wide company; obtained preliminary injunctions in design and utility patent infringement cases, as well as in trademark, copyright and trade secret cases; and protected the right of a famous high fashion designer to continue using his name professionally. Mr. Lipsitz represents clients in trade dress and right of publicity cases; and has been involved in high tech cases involving cutting-edge Internet and computer technologies.
Mr. Lipsitz has lectured on IP topics of interest both in the U.S. and overseas. He also supervises the department’s presentation of the popular KLIP (Kramer Levin Intellectual Property) Alerts. He is consistently recognized as a leader and innovator in the IP field, and has been voted a New York Super Lawyer.
