Steven M. Knecht concentrates his practice exclusively on employment litigation and advisory matters. Mr. Knecht regularly counsels clients on issues concerning the employment relationship, including drafting and negotiating employment, separation and non-competition agreements, drafting and reviewing employee handbooks and employment policies, advising on reductions-in-force, providing employment-related advice in connection with corporate transactions, conducting investigations into various employment issues and minimizing the risks of potential claims. He represents employers in federal and state court actions, administrative proceedings, arbitrations and mediations. Mr. Knecht has litigated claims brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and other discrimination laws. He has also handled whistleblower cases brought under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, as well as defended clients against breach of contract and tort claims. Mr. Knecht's prior experience as a human resources professional for a financial services company provides a unique perspective on issues confronted by management.
