Shari Krouner is a partner and co-chair of the Corporate Department’s Distressed Restructuring and Mergers and Acquisitions Group.Ms. Krouner has a diverse corporate practice focusing on private equity, distressed investments, mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcy, chapter 11 reorganization and restructuring transactions.
Ms. Krouner works closely with the Corporate Restructuring and Bankruptcy Department on sophisticated transactions and complex cases, providing expertise in corporate and securities law in order to help clients efficiently and effectively solve legal, structural and transactional issues. Ms. Krouner's representations include the debtors in the bankruptcies of General Maritime, Bally Total Fitness, Ascendia, Malden Mills and Berry-Hill Galleries; bondholders, acquirers, potential acquirers and other major creditors in Jefferson County, AL, Calpine, Bally Total Fitness, Recycled Paper Greetings, Alpha Media and ASARCO; and the official creditors' committees for Residential Capital, WP Steel and Smurfit-Stone. In addition, Ms. Krouner has substantial experience in private equity, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and venture capital investments, and has played a prominent role in representing funds and investors in private equity transactions as well as issuers and investment banking firms in public and private debt and equity offerings. Ms. Krouner was recognized by New York Super Lawyers in 2014-2016.
