Mr. Balliett's practice primarily focuses on providing general corporate advice for a broad range of publicly and privately held clients, with a particular focus on securities law matters and mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Balliett's clients have included global professional services firms, public utilities, and securities firms. He has also represented over a dozen independent directors or special committees of independent directors in evaluating proposed mergers, affiliate transactions, bankruptcy reorganizations, internal investigations, and executive compensation matters. Mr. Balliett also represents several family offices in connection with their investment activities and governance issues.
Mr. Balliett also has extensive experience in the corporate side of bankruptcies and troubled debt restructurings.
