Mr. Spatz practice focuses on patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, and unfair competition law.
Mr. Spatz has more than twenty-five years experience in counseling, transactional matters, litigation and registration procurement, including approximately five years as in-house patent counsel to an international conglomerate. He has vast experience handling the intellectual property aspects of business mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures.
Mr. Spatz represents clients having businesses in the areas of consumer goods, chemicals, metallurgy, pulp and paper, mining, food and beverages, computer software and e-commerce. His work in these specialties has encompassed all phases of intellectual property law, including securing, maintaining, licensing and litigating related patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets in the United States and throughout the rest of the world.
Mr. Spatz has successfully handled patent, trademark and trade dress cases in the federal and state courts, and inter partes proceedings in the Patent and Trademark Office, but he concentrates on proactive intellectual property management to avoid litigation, while achieving his client's business objectives.
