Kramer Levin is pleased to announce that Damian Petrovic has joined the firm as a partner in its Corporate department in New York.  

Damian represents private equity funds and their portfolio companies in connection with mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, preferred equity investments, co-invests and GP stake transactions. He also advises clients on corporate governance, contractual and commercial matters, legal due diligence, restructurings and other corporate advisory issues. His work spans a variety of industries, including mining, automotive, health care and financial services. 

Damian joins the firm ahead of Kramer Levin’s combination with Herbert Smith Freehills, a leading global firm, which is expected to be effective June 1, 2025. The combined firm, Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer LLP, will be known as HSF Kramer and will significantly enhance the firm’s global footprint and cross-border transactional capabilities.

Damian joins Kramer Levin from Schulte Roth & Zabel, where he was a partner. He previously held roles at Weil, Gotshal and Manges, Blackstone Group, and MinterEllison.

Originally from Australia, Damian received his L.L.B. with honors and B.A. from Macquarie University in Sydney.
