On May 1, 2020, litigators in Kramer Levin’s DC office won a federal appeal in the Fifth Circuit affirming the ruling by a trial court in Texas that guilty verdicts for two defendants in a public corruption case be thrown out and that the defendants be granted a new trial based on prejudicial outside influence on the jury. The Kramer Levin DC team, which had been retained by the defendants after they had been convicted at trial, had won the post-verdict motion to the trial court for a new trial, which the Fifth Circuit affirmed.
