Kramer Levin Elevates Five To Partner

Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP announced today that Valerie G. Campbell, Daniel M. Eggermann, Aaron M. Frankel, Eliza A. Kaiser and Eileen M. Patt have been promoted to partner, effective Oct. 1, 2017.

Valerie G. Campbell — Land Use, New York

Valerie Campbell concentrates her practice in land use and historic preservation law. She has extensive experience in addressing, from both the private and public perspectives, municipal land use issues at the Department of City Planning, the Board of Standards and Appeals, the Public Design Commission, the New York City Department of Transportation, and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Prior to joining Kramer Levin, Ms. Campbell was general counsel to the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission and deputy counsel to the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Bryn Mawr College, her master’s degree in regional planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her J.D., with honors, from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

Daniel M. Eggermann — Corporate Restructuring and Bankruptcy, New York

Daniel Eggermann focuses his practice primarily on the representation of distressed investors, bank debt holder and bondholder groups, creditors’ committees, and other parties in interest in all aspects of bankruptcy cases and out-of-court restructurings. Mr. Eggermann has played a leading role in some of Kramer Levin’s highest profile bankruptcy representations of recent years, including counsel to a group of first-lien bondholders in the Caesars bankruptcy cases, counsel to the bank agent in the Dewey & LeBoeuf bankruptcy case, and counsel to certain of Lehman Brothers’ foreign affiliates in connection with their respective foreign insolvency proceedings. He earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from LIU Post and his J.D., with honors, from New York University School of Law.

Aaron M. Frankel — Intellectual Property, New York

Aaron Frankel represents clients in complex patent, trademark and trade secret actions before a variety of courts and tribunals across the country. A seasoned trial lawyer, Mr. Frankel is recognized for his ability to clearly explain complicated technology in a way that is understandable to a judge and jury. In recent years, he has represented plaintiffs and defendants, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small startups, in litigation relating to cellular networks, semiconductor and LED devices, computer security, networking, consumer electronic devices, automobile systems, augmented reality, and a variety of other technologies. He is the co-chair of Kramer Levin’s Pro Bono Committee, and for more than 10 years he coordinated Kramer Levin’s award-winning pro bono asylum program. The New York State Bar Association awarded Mr. Frankel the President’s Pro Bono Service Award, and Immigration Equality awarded him a Safe Haven Award. He earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Columbia University’s Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and his J.D., with honors, from Harvard Law School.

Eliza A. Kaiser — Employment, New York

Eliza Kaiser focuses her practice exclusively on employment law litigation and advisory matters. Ms. Kaiser represents employers ranging from financial services firms to technology companies and other high-growth companies in federal and state courts, administrative and agency proceedings, and arbitrations and mediations. She has experience in litigating a wide range of employment claims, including allegations based on discrimination, wage and hour violations, breach of contract, and tort. Ms. Kaiser also has experience in counseling clients concerning all aspects of the employment relationship. She has conducted numerous investigations into employment issues, including claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblowing and employee misconduct. Ms. Kaiser’s prior experience as an in-house employment lawyer at a financial services firm provides her with a unique perspective on the issues facing employers. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Duke University and her J.D., with honors, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Eileen M. Patt — Litigation, New York

Eileen Patt maintains a diverse, complex civil litigation practice with a focus on advertising law. Ms. Patt represents global brands in false advertising disputes under the federal Lanham Act and in class action litigation pursuant to consumer fraud statutes throughout the country, as well as challenges before the National Advertising Division and the National Advertising Review Board. She regularly advises clients on a variety of advertising-related issues, including prospective claims, advertising clearance and claim support. Her commercial litigation experience is broad and includes employment, contract and securities disputes, as well as regulatory investigations. In addition to her work on behalf of clients, Ms. Patt serves on the firm’s Summer Steering Committee and is an adjunct professor of law at Fordham University School of Law, where she teaches legal writing. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University and her J.D., with honors, from Fordham University School of Law.
