Kramer Levin served as counsel to the seven-member Creditors Committee overseeing the $1.88 billion sale of NII Holdings Inc.’s Mexican operations to AT&T. The transaction was a pivotal event in NII’s bankruptcy, one of the largest Chapter 11 cases filed in 2014. Upon its completion in May 2015, the transaction led to a revised plan support agreement with significantly increased plan value and distributions to all creditor classes and the support of more than 70 percent of the estate’s creditors. NII’s Chapter 11 plan, co-sponsored by the Creditors’ Committee, was confirmed on June 18, 2015.
