In the 2010 edition of Benchmark Litigation, Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel was named in the top tier of litigation firms in New York. Nationally, Kramer Levin was ranked as a leading firm for commercial litigation, intellectual property and white collar crime. Partners Barry H. Berke, Nicholas L. Coch, Michael J. Dell, Gregory A. Horowitz, Gary P. Naftalis and Harold P. Weinberger were recognized as "Local Litigation Stars."  In rating the firm, the edition states that with the "New York headquarters serving as its only domestic office, [the firm] has generated an astonishing level of recognition on a national level."

Department head and firm co-chair Gary Naftalis was specifically highlighted for his accomplishments. Benchmark cited his successful defense of Ken Langone in the lawsuit brought by former Attorney General Eliot Spitzer relating to the compensation of NYSE Chairman Richard Grasso and noted that peers and clients have the "highest praise" for Gary. Competitors were quoted as calling Gary "a titan" and "one of the white collar leaders in the city." As one competitor stated, "everybody knows him and what's more, everybody likes him."

Harold Weinberger was also specifically cited for "his commercial litigation practice," including his most recent victory on behalf of Procter & Gamble, and Barry Berke "for his white-collar and securities achievements."
