Kramer Levin Wins M&A Advisor's Industrial Manufacturing/Distribution Deal of the Year Award
On September 16, 2009, Kramer Levin was named the winner of the Industrial Manufacturing/Distribution Deal of the Year Award by M&A Advisor in its Inaugural Global M&A Awards for the acquisition of Arlington Tankers by firm client General Maritime Corporation.
General Maritime Corporation completed its acquisition of Arlington Tankers Ltd. on December 16, 2008, pursuant to a previously-announced Agreement and Plan of Merger and Amalgamation entered into on August 6, 2008. Pursuant to the Agreement, the two companies combined in a stock-for-stock combination.
Thomas E. Molner and Terrence L. Shen, Randal D. Murdock, Adam S. Karasik and Alex S. Kaufman worked on the transaction. Barry Herzog and Melissa S. Blades provided tax advice, Avram J. Cahn provided benefits advice, and Kenneth Chin and Gabrielle A. Paupeck provided banking and finance advice.
