On April 4, 2003, Michael J. Nassau and former Congressman John Erlenborn, the sole survivor among the four legislative leaders (including Senators Jacob Javits and Pete Williams and Congressman Dent) responsible for enactment of ERISA, were honored by WEB (the Worldwide Employee Benefits network ) for their contributions to the field of employee benefits. The former Congressman, who is currently the President of the Legal Services Corporation and a member of WEB's National Advisory Committee, received an WEBA Excellence in Benefits Award for his historic legislative achievement and continuing work in the field. Michael Nassau, senior benefits partner at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP, received the inaugural Excellence in Benefits Award for Achievement in Benefits Service, in recognition of his over 40 years of service, including Bar and Committee activities devoted to improving the quality of regulation in the field and extensive lecturing and writing.
