Litigation partner Gary Naftalis was quoted in the August 24, 2006 Wall Street Journal in an article on the deferred prosecution agreement entered into by federal prosecutors and Frank Quattrone, the former Credit Suisse First Boston investment banker. As part of the agreement, Quattrone can have the charges against him dropped if he stays clear of legal trouble for a year. Naftalis is quoted as saying that rather than decline prosecution, the government increasingly chooses to defer corporate prosecutions. He says that while doing so leaves federal prosecutors the option to pursue charges, normally they never do.
