Howard T. Spilko, Co-chair of the Corporate Department, counsels and represents clients in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures, with an emphasis on middle-market transactions. Mr. Spilko works with a broad range of clients, from private equity firms, hedge funds and entrepreneurial ventures to large, well-known multinational companies. Among his most notable work, Mr. Spilko has represented Stone Point Capital and its Trident funds in numerous acquisitions, dispositions and joint ventures; Perella Weinberg Partners and its Asset-Based Value funds in numerous transactions, investments and joint ventures, including the formation of Liberty Island, a joint venture with Prudential Mortgage to originate commercial mortgage loans; and Fortress Investment Group in multiple joint ventures, investments and acquisitions. He has represented American International Group in multiple transactions, including those involving several international finance platforms, and AmTrust Financial Services in its acquisition of CCP North America, a provider of tools and services for identity management and lifestyle solutions. Mr. Spilko has also advised American International Group, Allied World Assurance Company and The Hartford Group in connection with the underwriting and issuance of transactional insurance products. In addition to his work on behalf of clients, Mr. Spilko serves as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
