• Andrew Baum assists with the representation of corporations and their executives, as well as professional athletes, and other individuals in a wide variety of complex and high-profile government and regulatory investigations, congressional hearings, trials, internal investigations, and high-stakes civil litigation.

    Andrew’s work includes assisting clients in resolving matters involving the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the U.S. Congress, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Office of the New York Attorney General, and other agencies and organizations. He assists clients on a broad range of legal and compliance issues, including violations of federal securities laws, allegations of insider trading, tax fraud and investment adviser fraud, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) violations, obstruction of justice claims, and cybersecurity and consumer privacy matters.

    Andrew was recently part of the trial team defending a high-profile individual in a closely watched four-week insider trading jury trial in the Southern District of New York. He has also assisted in the representation of a Major League Baseball player in connection with alleged violations of Major League Baseball’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program; in the representation of the chief executive officer of one of the world’s largest internet media companies in regulatory investigations and class action litigation involving cybersecurity matters following a data security incident; in the preparation of a senior executive to testify at a high-profile congressional hearing; and in the representation of a senior executive of an automotive company in a regulatory investigation and parallel civil litigation involving emissions issues.

    Prior to joining Kramer Levin, Andrew served as an extern in the New York Regional Office of the SEC, where he worked on investigations and enforcement matters in the Enforcement Division’s Market Abuse Unit. He also previously worked as a runner on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, where he assisted floor brokers and specialists.
