• Jonathan Pepin works on intellectual property matters. He has litigated patent infringement and Hatch-Waxman Act matters in federal district courts across the country. Jonathan also represents clients in inter partes review proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

    Jonathan has represented clients in patent cases relating to technologies such as anti-virus software, printer technologies, home entertainment systems and universal remotes. He has litigated multiple cases under the Hatch-Waxman Act, defending method of treatment and formulation patents protecting blockbuster products from challenges by generics and 505(b)(2) applicants.  He has also handled matters relating to biologics and biotechnology.

    Prior to joining Kramer Levin, Jonathan was a litigator at a London-based international law firm. 

    During law school, Jonathan was a summer associate and an intern at General Electric Healthcare, Life Sciences Division, working on patent preparation, prosecution and due diligence. Jonathan reviewed and revised patent applications in the chemical and biological arts including nucleic acids, proteins, antibodies and biomarkers. He also interned for the Honorable Walter Koprowski, in the Chancery Division, and the Honorable Paul Vichness, in the Civil Division, both of the New Jersey Superior Court.

    While in college, Jonathan interned at Centocor Inc., in research and development for the immunology department where he developed assays to study interaction between protease inhibitors and their substrates in order to support clinical trials for a drug targeting fibrosis.

    Jonathan worked as a research technician in the lab of Dr. Mary Desmond, in the Villanova University biology department where he studied the effects of brain cavity versus brain tissue on the development of embryonic chicken brains.
