As part of our commitment to educate our lawyers and staff on the importance of the unique differences in each of us, the firm hosted several events. 

Celebrating the Year of the Rat. The firm held its annual Lunar New Year celebration on Jan. 27. This year’s celebratory lunch featured a presentation by the Tai Chi Chuan Center, a New York-based nonprofit that promotes the benefits of tai chi through public awareness, training and community service.

Celebrating Intergenerational Diversity. Mary Abbajay, best-selling author of “Managing Up: How to Move Up, Win at Work, and Succeed with Any Type of Bossand the president of Careerstone Group LLC, an organizational and leadership development consultancy, facilitated a discussion on intergenerational diversity at Kramer Levin. Her Nov. 12, 2019, discussion, “Generation Matters: Celebrating Generational Differences,” raised awareness of the distinctive perspectives, motivations and expectations of each generation in the workplace.

Demonstrating Commitment to Diversity. Partner Eileen M. Patt presented a continuing legal education program on Oct. 22, 2019. Eileen, a civil litigator who focuses on advertising and employment matters, shared her insights on her work with the Diversity Labs-sponsored Diversity in Law Hackathon and the firm’s commitment to the advancement of women and diversity. Eileen participated in a Hackathon in 2018 and noted her progress and the firm’s continued efforts.
