Kramer Levin advised Bizao, a French fintech, in its €8 million fundraising from AfricInvest, Adelie and Seedstars Africa Ventures. With this undertaking, Bizao plans to accelerate its geographic expansion in several countries on the African continent and invest in the design of new product and service lines. The involvement of new investors will allow Bizao to strengthen its governance bodies while consolidating its R&D strategy to design innovative payment products and services that address the needs identified in new business lines.

Launched in 2019, Bizao is a fintech that allows companies to process payment flows from and to all the main digital payment systems in Africa (telephone/airtime credit, mobile wallets, etc.) transparently and using the best security standards. In three years, Bizao has deployed its operations in 10 African countries (Burkina-Faso, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Mali, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Tunisia, Togo and Gabon) and has built a robust technological infrastructure that processes more than 350 million payment requests per month.

Kramer Levin assisted Bizao with a team composed of partner Alexandre Omaggio and associate Thomas Maincent, as well as counsel Mathilde Carle for intellectual property, IT and data aspects.
