Kramer Levin is pleased to announce that the firm has been selected as counsel to the official committee of unsecured creditors of Rite Aid Corporation. Rite Aid filed for Chapter 11 protection in the bankruptcy court in the District of New Jersey on Oct. 15, 2023, burdened by more than $4 billion in funded debt and facing substantial opioid litigation. The nine-member committee consists of McKesson Corporation, Benderson Development Company, Computershare Trust Company, United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, MCS Advantage Inc., Realty Income Corporation, Loyd F. Schmuckley, Jr., Relator, Humana Health Plan Inc. and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation.
