N.D. Cal Affirms Patent Infringement Victory for Kramer Levin Client Finjan
On July 18, 2016, Judge Beth Labson Freeman of the Northern District of California affirmed a $39.5 million jury verdict for Kramer Levin client Finjan in its patent infringement suit against Blue Coat Systems, and also awarded pre- and post-judgment interest. Ruling that the 2015 verdict was supported by substantial evidence, Judge Freeman dismissed Blue Coat’s motion to have the verdict tossed.
The Finjan team was led by partners Paul J. Andre, Lisa Kobialka and James Hannah and included associates Hannah Lee, Kristopher B. Kastens, Michael H. Lee, Benu Mehra Wells, Aakash Jariwala, Cristina Martinez, Austin Manes, Nobumasa Hiroi and Yuridia Caire.
