“My experience as a summer associate at Kramer Levin exceeded my already high expectations. The summer program is a great balance of substantive work and firmwide/network building events.
Kramer Levin’s summer program does not place you in any particular group and instead allows for a hybrid ‘market system,’ where a summer associate can work on assignments across all departments at the firm. I feel that this allows those who are unsure about what field they want to pursue a career in to try everything, while also allowing those who already have an idea of what field they would like to pursue to familiarize themselves about the field and solidify their decision.
The culture and atmosphere of the firm was a major selling point for me, and Kramer Levin’s summer program was a great introduction to this. The collegial environment was evident on day one and only continued to grow, with various lunches and events as well as inclusion on a variety of different projects. Associates and partners were eager to meet the summer associates and to answer any and all questions. It made us as summer associates feel welcome and part of the team immediately."

“I really enjoyed my time as a summer associate at Kramer Levin. I especially benefited from the presentations we received on the firm’s many practice groups and also the opportunities I had to shadow attorneys on live transactions. I felt like I ended the summer with a strong sense of (and excitement for) what life as a full-time associate would be like. Substantively, I had the chance to contribute to legal research for an asylum case and help prepare the first drafts of ancillary deal documents for a corporate transaction. Beyond the work itself, even as a remote 2020 summer associate, I still had countless opportunities to connect with people across the firm and in my summer class.

"Kramer Levin’s summer associate program was a wonderful experience and gave me the opportunity to engage in substantive legal work, explore a variety of practice areas, and to build relationships with attorneys and staff across the firm. The program is designed to expose summer associates to a variety of practice areas, through formal simulations and training as well as through the assignment process. The attorneys I worked with made an active effort to include me in team calls, client meetings, and hearings, and were genuinely interested in getting to know me as a colleague.
